MRH-90 Inquiry update
Following standard IGADF practice, the Hon Margaret McMurdo and Air-Vice Marshal Geoff Harland have provided the draft report to the families of the deceased aviators. This recognises their loss and offers them an opportunity to review the report and provide feedback before it is finalised. The draft report is subject to a non-disclosure direction under sections 21 and 28M of the Inspector-General of the Australian Defence Force Regulation 2016. This means it cannot be shared or published by anyone without IGADF authorisation, and there are legal consequences for non-compliance. The Inquiry will carefully consider families’ feedback before finalising its findings and recommendations. The completed report will then be provided to the Chief of the Defence Force. A copy of the non-disclosure direction is accessible here: Disclosure Direction - IGADF MRH-90 Inquiry - Draft Report.

It provides the appropriate balance between discipline and the rights of individuals, and ensures our personnel work in an ordered but equitable environment. It is critical to maintaining command, retaining our people, our reputation and is ultimately critical to operational effectiveness.
